Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri urges his side to pick up their first Champions League points against Olympiacos.
THREE POINTS IMPERATIVE
“We can’t afford to underestimate Olympiacos. They’re quick on the counter-attack, but we’re only interested in one result tomorrow night and that’s winning. After the loss in Barcelona, this is where our group stage begins in earnest and we simply have to get that first victory under our belts.”
“[Miralem] Pjanic and [Blaise] Matuidi are certainties to start in midfield. We’ve good cover in that part of the pitch with [Rodrigo] Bentancur who can come on during the match and play well just like he has been doing so far. There’s also [Sami] Khedira, but he’s only trained for two sessions since his injury and isn’t quite ready yet. In defence, I’ll either field [Stefano] Sturaro at full-back and [Andrea] Barzagli in the centre or Barzagli at full-back and [Medhi] Benatia in the centre".
"I’ll decide tomorrow who’ll be playing in attack. With the vast amount of options I have up front, it’s to be expected that regular starters may be benched now and again. [Gonzalo] Higuain just needs to keep calm and focused on performing the way he knows best. He remains an important player for us.”
