Speaking after an impressive Napoli performance in Paris, marred by the disappointment of a late equaliser for PSG, Carlo Ancelotti said: "A draw is a great result at this ground, but it’s a shame about the circumstances".
Despite the clear discontent so soon after the match, the coach praised the display turned in by his side: "I’m clearly satisfied with the performance and the way the boys managed the game. There’s a feeling of regret because we almost won it – but in football goals can go in during added time".
About Angel Di Maria, who scored the draw's gol, Ancelotti said: "He's a player that can stick one in the top corner at any moment. It’s something we’ll learn from. We need to look at what we didn’t do well, particularly in the attacking third".
On November 6th the Azzurri will play at San Paolo stadium against PSG: "We did really well with our build-up play but we were too forgiving in front of goal, particularly in the first period. We should have been more clinical with our final ball and we failed to add to our lead. Either way we went toe-to-toe with a team that has an outstanding squad. That gives us confidence for the home match. It’ll be a massive game at the San Paolo. We can push towards advancing from the group playing at home".
