Fiorentina are to face off against European champions Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday 23 August.
The Viola have been invited by Los Blancos to take part in this year's Santiago Bernabeu Trophy, an annual event held in memory of the club's former president. The 38th edition of the trophy will take place 60 years after the 1956/57 European Cup final between the two sides, played at the same ground.
Real won the match 2-0 in front of a crowd of 124,000 (the second highest attendance of all time in a European Cup final), with the likes of Alfredo Di Stefano, Raymond Kopa and Francisco Gento involved for the Spanish outfit and Giuliano Sarti, Julinho and Miguel Angel Montuori featuring for the Viola.
"We're honoured to have been invited by Real Madrid to take part in this historic trophy," Fiorentina executive president Mario Cognigni said. "And we're even more honoured to have the opportunity to remember the 1957 final, one of the highest points of Fiorentina's history."
The match, due to kick off at 22:45 CEST, will be broadcast live on Canale 5 in Italy.
