Miralem Pjanic is determined to end 2015 on a high, with the midfielder expressing his optimism going into the pre-Christmas period. Interviewed while away on international duty with Bosnia & Herzegovina, who are looking to negotiate a Euro 2016 play-off with the Republic of Ireland, Pjanic underlined the importance of Roma’s upcoming games.
“We are about to get into a vitally important run of matches," declared Pjanic. "We’re determined to get to the Christmas break as high in the table as possible and we want to end the year on a high. To do that we’ll need everyone to do their bit, so I hope we can get all our injured players back playing as soon as possible. We want to see out 2015 with a bang."
Edin Džeko scored in the derby and found the net again on Friday for Bosnia. How important is he?
“Well he had a great match in the derby and scored another vital goal for the national team on Friday. We’re absolutely delighted to have him as part of the group in Trigoria. We’re always happy when he’s available and he’s in great form right now so I hope he can score another important goal in the second leg of the play-off against Ireland!”.
