As the date of the long awaited Supercoppa TIM approaches, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) is releasing the first batch of tickets for sale on the website of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), at www.qfa.qa from today – Saturday, December 3 starting from 12 noon.
The Supercoppa TIM is set to take place at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium – home of Al Sadd Sports Club, on December 23 at 7:30pm and will be played by Juventus, Champions of the 2015-16 Serie A TIM Championship and the 2015-16 TIM Cup, and AC Milan, 2015-16 TIM Cup runners-up.
The hosting of this important cup was officially announced on October 3 during the Aspire4sport Global Summit on Football Performance & Science in Amsterdam.
The LOC, which comprises representatives of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), the Qatar Football Association (QFA), and Qatar Stars League (QSL), is delighted to host the Supercoppa TIM in Doha, which will be played by the Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan.
The LOC is anticipating that the first batch of online tickets will sell in a matter of hours after their release, especially that Juventus and AC Milan possess a significant fan-base in Qatar and the Middle East.
Each fan can buy up to four tickets from either category 1 tickets (250 Q.R) or category 2 tickets (150 Q.R). Fans can visit www.qfa.qa for more details.
The LOC has also revealed that tickets will go on sale in shopping malls across Qatar, which will be announced at a later date on QFA’s social media channels.
Held annually, the first edition of the historic Supercoppa TIM was held in 1988, with Juventus holding the record of most wins in this competition, followed immediately by AC Milan, with seven and six wins respectively.
Hosting this cup in Qatar for the second time is a reflection of the strong relationship between the Italian and Qatari football governing bodies and the highly successful organisation in Doha of the 2014 Supercoppa TIM between Juventus and Napoli, all key factors for the return of the event to Qatar.
It is the second time that the Italian Supercoppa TIM will be played in the Qatari capital. In December 22, 2014, the 27th edition of the Italian Supercoppa TIM was played between Juventus and Napoli at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium – home of Al Sadd Sports Club, which was highly entertaining and was won by Napoli on penalties.
