Atalanta's coach Gian Piero Gasperini and the Bergamaschi's captain Alejandro Gomez spoke in the pre-match press conference on the eve of the 2019 TIM Cup Final between Atalanta and Lazio, scheduled on Wednesday 15 May, at Stadio Olimpico of Rome at 20.45 CEST.
GASPERINI “I am very happy with the influx of fans coming to Rome and I’d be even happier if we were able to win the Cup. That’s not down to one person, but to every element of the club. We all pushed together to reach this Final and it’s already a success to have all these people in Rome. We are up against a strong side like Lazio, but I see an Atalanta side that is very concentrated on what we need to do. It’s an emotional occasion, but once it kicks off, we must put all that to one side."
GOMEZ "For Atalanta this Final represents a lot, winning it could give so much to this club. There was a change of mentality when Gasperini arrived. Before we thought about the relegation fight, now we play for much more important goals. Atalanta is one of the best in Italy but, perhaps, without Gasperini it wouldn't have happened."
