Roma won 3-0 against Istanbul Basaksehir in the matchday 5 of the 2019/2020 Europa League group stage. First half goals from Jordan Veretout, Justin Kluivert and Edin Dzeko secured a comfortable - and vital - victory for the Giallorossi. Roma's coach Paulo Fonseca spoke in his post-match press conference.
"It was very important to win here today against a strong side whose only recent loss came against us at the Stadio Olimpico. We had a very good first half and managed to control the game in the second half. We maybe didn't do a good job throughout, but I'm pleased."
"We have to win our next game. We'll have time to think about Wolfsburg, but now we need to turn our attention towards Verona, which will be a very tough match next time out."
On Justin Kluivert: "He's in good form. He's improved a lot defensively as well. He works hard for the team and is free to roam around when we're on the attack. When we go forward, he does need to find more space, but he did have a good game."
On Dzeko's role: "You need to strike the right balance in that regard. Edin put in an important shift for the team. He's scored twice in our last two games, so I'm pleased because he's a player who works very hard for the side."
