Walter Mazzarri, Torino's coach, spoke in the pre-match press conference ahead of the second leg against Debrecen in 2019/2020 Europa League Second Round.
“The first leg was very positive for us, as we managed to score three goals and prevented Debrecen from expressing their potential. We mustn’t think that it’s done and dusted, because we are facing an organised team that has always achieved very good results on their home turf. They’ll do everything to turn this result around. We’ve got to focus on ourselves, as we have an identity and style of football that is consolidated. We must forget the first leg result, as we want to win here too.”
“I can rely on the lads at my disposal. We already saw last season that once we got that team mentality, we could rotate and still have similar performances. I have more experience in Europe than these players, so I drilled into them all week that they mustn’t let concentration levels drop. We have to take control of the match. I also told them that victory has to become normal for us rather than an exception, so they had one day off after the game and then straight back to work."
