ON THIS DAY...

19/10/1921: Gunnar Nordahl was born in Sweden

In 1921 Gunnar Nordahl was born in Hornefors (Sweden) and he died in 1995. He won 2 Scudetti and 2 Latin Cups with AC Milan, 4 Scudetti and 1 Swedish Cup with Norrkoping and Olympic gold in 1948 with Sweden. He was the football player who scored more goals than anyone in a single Championship from 1949/50 to 2015/16 (35 goals - record beaten by Gonzalo Higuain with Napoli with 36 goals in 2015/16). Nordahl arrived in Italy in the summer of 1948 and he began his Serie A career with AC Milan. Then, he moved to AS Roma in 1956 and he remained there for two seasons. In Serie A he made 291 appearances with 225 goals: 210 with AC Milan where he is even today the all-time top scorer in the League.

19/10/2008: Ronaldinho's first double

First double in Serie A for Ronaldinho, who will sign another 2 before leaving Italy and AC Milan. The Brazilian scored at San Siro against Sampdoria in the 55th minute from a penalty and in the 66th minute, in the match won by the Rossoneri 3-0.
