Thiago Motta's pre-match conference ahead of tomorrow's 15:00 match against Torino was held early this afternoon, with the Italian-Brazilian coach calling for an immediate reaction after the defeat in Florence:
"I didn't like the behaviour of the team in the last game. After seeing it again I realised that we didn't take the pitch and that our approach was wrong, as it was in the rest of the match. Apart from the quality of Fiorentina, I'm convinced we can give more than what we showed on Sunday, both from a technical and attitudinal point of view, and I'm sure we'll be completely different tomorrow.
What I expect from my players is that they give everything they have, they've known that since day one. The boys are very responsible, we've worked hard this week and I know that tomorrow they'll give their best and work for the team. I repeat that everyone must give their all and no one must spare even 1% of their energy, because that's the only way to do good things for this team.
Tomorrow we'll face a strong team, who is going through a good moment and who can be very aggressive, but we have to be ready to play games like this, aware of their game, but also of ours, trying to defend and attack together.
Strelec and Salcedo? I'm satisfied with their work. Strelec is also very available on the defensive side of the pitch and when he comes out, he gives his best. Salcedo joined the team later; he played his first game with the Primavera team and after that, he was available for the team and gave an excellent performance on the pitch. Both deserved to play, I'm happy with their dedication and I know they can be very useful to the team later in the season.
Sala is back in the group after his injury and like all the other players in the squad, he has a chance to play tomorrow. I haven't yet decided who the starting eleven will be for tomorrow's game, but I can say that when I make my choice, I do so based both on what I see in training and on the opponent to be faced because some players' qualities can be more useful in some games than in others.
It's right that the fans are expressing their dissatisfaction now, we wasted games that we could have won, and what counts in the end are the points accumulated and the standings, and right now you can't be satisfied: we have to give our best and work to bring home the points we need to reach our goal and give great joy to our fans.
Colley will be in the group, Hristov unfortunately not. Since the beginning of the season, he has played a lot of games both with us and with the national team, he is a guy who has extraordinary determination, but he is not 100% and today I consider him injured even if the discomfort is mild. I prefer to preserve him and let him recover as best as possible without risking aggravating the situation."
