Ballardini`s Neroverdi managed to beat the league leaders for the second time this season and close the gap on their rivals above, while Baroni`s Scaligeri ran out winners against the Viola at the Bentegodi and climb to 14th place. In the final fixture on matchday 35, Udinese saved themselves at the death against Napoli, grabbing a point, and avoided conceding further ground to their rivals in the relegation dogfight.
