&lt;p&gt;Let’s take a journey through our league table after twelve games, starting from the bottom, passing through the middle and up to the top, as Inter start pulling away from the rest, with a determined Juventus chasing and not giving up an inch.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Starting off from the bottom, &lt;strong&gt;Salernitana &lt;/strong&gt;currently prop up the table on five points, with five draws, seven defeats and still no victory to their name, despite having the quality and desire to turn a corner after a difficult start to the season.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Granata need to get points to close the gap and move above the relegation line. It is a target which, to date, is only five points away (Empoli on ten points) and therefore certainly not impossible for Candreva and his teammates, and Head Coach &lt;strong&gt;Filippo Inzaghi&lt;/strong&gt; who arrived in Salerno in mid-October to revive the team’s fortunes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;From mentality to a change of formation, the coach from Piacenza, fresh from his experience with Reggina, has tried to put out a different Salernitana side, with the first positive signs already arriving in the Coppa Italia round of 32 tie against Sampdoria, &lt;a href=&#34;https://www.legaseriea.it/en/media/coppa-italia/salernitana-4-0-sampdoria-13cdc20nc6dh7d&#34; data-new-window=&#34;true&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener noreferrer&#34;&gt;where they won won 4-0&lt;/a&gt;. Victory has failed to come about in Serie A TIM since 27 May. In their last game against &lt;strong&gt;Sassuolo&lt;/strong&gt;, however, Salernitana started well: for the first time since the start of the league campaign they scored a goal in the opening quarter of an hour, and then doubled their lead. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long as the Neroverdi fought back in Reggio Emilia and the game ended &lt;a href=&#34;https://highlights.legaseriea.it/2023-2024/highlights-giornata-12/sassuolo-salernitana-10-11-2023/&#34; data-new-window=&#34;true&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener noreferrer&#34;&gt;2-2&lt;/a&gt;. In total, they have scored eight goals, four of which bear the name of &lt;strong&gt;Boulaye Dia&lt;/strong&gt;; it’s a number that tells the story of Salernitana`s Serie A TIM season so far. They also have the joint-worst defensive record, along with Cagliari, after conceding 24 goals.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In 19th position is &lt;strong&gt;Marco Baroni’s&lt;/strong&gt; Verona who, after an excellent start with two wins out of two in their opening fixtures (against Empoli and Roma), have dramatically dropped off, earning only two points from their last ten games. Comparing this stage of the season last year, Verona were three points better off (eight versus five), but Baroni’s squad now need points to start moving towards the season’s objective of safety.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Recovering however, and driven by the enthusiasm and experience of a great coach like &lt;strong&gt;Claudio Ranieri&lt;/strong&gt;, we find newly promoted &lt;strong&gt;Cagliari &lt;/strong&gt;third from bottom with nine points. After being winless in their opening nine top-flight games, they finally broke their duck on matchday 10 against Frosinone. The Sardinians produced a sensational comeback, giving their fans &lt;a href=&#34;https://www.legaseriea.it/en/media/serie-a/cagliari-4-3-frosinone-13cb06lmhlgg2h&#34; data-new-window=&#34;true&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener noreferrer&#34;&gt;their first success of the season&lt;/a&gt;. It all happened at the Unipol Domus: Cagliari went three-nil down, before Oristanio gave them hope in the 72nd minute; Makoumbou then scored and &lt;strong&gt;Leonardo Pavoletti &lt;/strong&gt;bagged a decisive brace, as he so often does as seen in grabbing the winning goal in the Serie B playoff final that sealed Cagliari`s return to the top flight last season.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;That double strike by the forward from Livorno literally sent the fans wild beyond crazy. The Rossoblù are 18&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; in the table, but who arrive at the break with consistency, rhythm and more self-awareness.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Aurelio Andreazzoli’s &lt;strong&gt;Empoli&lt;/strong&gt; are also experiencing something similar.
