&lt;p&gt;David Neres is set to become the latest &lt;strong&gt;Brazilian&lt;/strong&gt; talent to don the &lt;strong&gt;Napoli&lt;/strong&gt; shirt, continuing a tradition at the club set by legends such as Faustinho Cané, Altafini, Careca, Vinicio, Alemao and, more recently, Allan, Juan Jesus and Natan. Born in São Paulo in 1997, Neres started his footballing journey for home-town club &lt;strong&gt;São Paulo FC&lt;/strong&gt;. He was a promising talent right from his early days in the Tricolor’s youth system and, after only a few games with the first team, was noticed by scouts from &lt;strong&gt;Ajax&lt;/strong&gt;, who brought him to Amsterdam in January 2017.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Neres hit the ground running in the Netherlands, scoring six goals in his first few months and nailing down a starting berth. In his next season, he lit up the Johan Cruyff Arena with 14 goals and 13 assists in 32 games, playing mostly on the right wing. 2018/19 was the heigh point of his stint at Ajax; on the right flank of Erik &lt;strong&gt;ten Hag’s&lt;/strong&gt; 4-2-3-1, alongside Van de Beek and Ziyech and behind Tadic, he was vital in the famous run to the &lt;strong&gt;Champions League semi-final&lt;/strong&gt;. That summer, Neres went to the Copa America with Brazil, playing in two group games as the Seleção went on to win the tournament.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;After 121 appearances for Ajax, in which he scored 37 goals and registered 35 assists, Neres joined &lt;strong&gt;Benifca&lt;/strong&gt; in 2022. A gifted and quick dribbler, he is lethal out wide and could form a devastating wing pairing with Kvaratskhelia.
