For over four&amp;nbsp;years, Serie A has been waging a relentless war against piracy, with significant&amp;nbsp;investments in software and technologies capable of removing pirate websites, and with a legal team capable of attacking the entire supply chain to the point of imposing significant economic fines on end consumers who inevitably leave digital traces of access to illegal sites and apps”&lt;/em&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style=&#34;text-align: justify; &#34;&gt;&lt;em&gt;“But the most difficult battle is the one against IPTVs. In Italy alone, the economic impact of this decree could be an additional €150m per season in rights fees.”&lt;/em&gt; Research by Italy’s Federation Against Audio Visual Piracy suggests that the cost of piracy to Serie A has been almost €1bn in the last three years. &lt;em&gt;“This is a monster amount,”&lt;/em&gt; De Siervo said. &lt;em&gt;“These are figures that would allow us to further strengthen our clubs and increase the number of champions playing in our league.”&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style=&#34;text-align: justify; &#34;&gt;The league is pushing ahead with its plans to go to market in the coming months with its&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style=&#34;background-color: initial;&#34;&gt;domestic media rights for the cycle beginning in the 2024-25 season.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;em style=&#34;background-color: initial;&#34;&gt; “We are confident&amp;nbsp;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em style=&#34;background-color: initial;&#34;&gt;that, despite it being a very difficult tender, we will finally get what we deserve from the&amp;nbsp;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em style=&#34;background-color: initial;&#34;&gt;market. The problem of piracy is global, but in Italy it has had a greater impact because&amp;nbsp;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em style=&#34;background-color: initial;&#34;&gt;the system of legal regulations is absolutely inadequate. There is evidence that behind this&amp;nbsp;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em style=&#34;background-color: initial;&#34;&gt;phenomenon – which uses legal storage, transmission and payment systems – there is a&amp;nbsp;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em style=&#34;background-color: initial;&#34;&gt;real criminal organisation.”&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style=&#34;text-align: justify; &#34;&gt;&lt;em&gt;“We will be selling on the basis of the new regulatory framework”, &lt;/em&gt;De Siervo said.&lt;em&gt; “What’s&amp;nbsp;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em style=&#34;background-color: initial;&#34;&gt;important is the broadcasters, at home and especially abroad, understand that Italy has in&amp;nbsp;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em style=&#34;background-color: initial;&#34;&gt;place a proper anti-piracy regime.
